Mergim Qarri

Born: 10/08/1996

Height: 1.75m

Weight: 70kg

Free kick specialist

Dominant Foot: Right footed – Very comfortable using both and can play on both sides of the field.

Position: Prefers to play as a number 10 but is very effective coming in off either side in a front three.

I am currently looking for an opportunity within football to demonstrate my talent and capabilities that have already contributed to some success on the football pitch. I am confident that I posses both the physical and mental attributes as well as an outstanding technical ability that will make me an asset to your club. My passion and dedication for the game and personal aspirations have seen perform well at every club I have been at and I am now looking for a new challenging and rewarding opportunity.

Mergim has great acceleration and a superb ability to change direction at pace. He uses these qualities in a very direct manner always playing forward and looking for the quickest rout to goal. Having spent time at the highly acclaimed Stevenage Football Club U18 set up and a short time with West Ham he has developed a strong game intelligence and knows how to use his strengths to get the most out of his ability.

Mergim definitely has the pace, aggression and understanding to be part of a high press, but there is little footage of him in a defensive manner to know how he reacts when his team is under pressure. I have seen instances of him being beaten too easily in the tackle while his desire to score can see him make wrong choices in the attacking third. But this isn’t something I see as too much of an issue as it’s his ability to be erratic and unpredictable that could make him a great asset.

In the past he has been invited for trials with Nottingham Forest, West Bromwich Albion and AEK Athens. He was offered an 18 month deal with Portuguese Second Division Club Vilanfranquense Uniao Desportiva but turned it down for a possible opportunity with West Brom which did not eventuate. Since then he has played for the likes Billericay Town in the sixth tier of English football and Ytterhogdals IK in the Swedish fourth tier.

Mergim has had a bit of a nomadic career so far and in someways this may have gone against him. But despite this I feel he has more than enough quality to make a dent in the NPL, especially in a team that presses from the front and looks to attack with pace. He is something of a free kick specialist with some labeling him as the best striker of a dead ball outside of the pro game in the UK . He also a super confident and a positive personality to have around the changing room.
